Calcium folinate
General properties
Agents used for the elimination of the toxic effects of anticancer therapy.
As a protective agent for the prevention of the toxic effect of methotrexate when it is used in medium and high doses;
as an antidote while overdose and toxicity of methotrexate and other folic acid antagonists;
in combined cytotoxic therapy with 5-fluorouracil (as a biochemical modulator of the activity of 5-fluorouracil);
for the treatment of megaloblastic anemia due to folic acid deficiency, as well as the prevention and treatment of folate deficiency when the oral administration of folic acid is impossible.
Hypersensitivity to calcium folinate or other ingredients.
Pernicious anemia or other types of anemia caused by a deficiency of vitamin B12.
