General properties
Antimicrobial agents for systemic use. Carbapenems. Imipenem and enzyme inhibitor.
Treatment of infections in adults and children aged from 1 year of age caused by microorganisms sensitive to the drug:
intraperitoneal infections; infections of lower respiratory tracts (severe pneumonia, including hospital and ventilator-associated pneumonia); intranatal and postpartum infections; complicated urinary tract infections; complicated skin and soft tissues infections; bones and joints infections; septicaemia; endocarditis.
The medicinal product may be used in the management of neutropenic patients with fever that is suspected to be due to bacterial infection.
Management of patients with bacterimia associated or suspected to be associated with any of the abovementioned infections.
Hypersensitivity to any of the drug’s components, other carbapenems, acute manifestations of hypersensitivity (for example, anaphylactic reactions, severe skin reactions) to other ß-lactam antibiotics (e.g. Penicillin, cephalosporins).
Pharmaceutical characteristics
Powder from white to almost white or slightly yellowish.
Store in the original package at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C. Keep out of the reach of children.
